I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll....

Remember the weather warning yesterday? The wind howled all night. It was loud enough to wake the kids. Who in turn woke me. Mean wind!

Here are a couple of pictures from today:

8:50 p.m.:

It is still huffing and puffing outside. Our front door appears to have a gap in the seal, as snow is actually blowing in about 1.5', then melting. I'm glad Craig discovered this, because I was beginning to wonder who's boots were melting snow all over the floor!

You think you have snow back home?

We took a drive around town today. Yesterday was beautiful, and today was very warm (it was -3, but with all the sunshine it was really hot in the car!) but the wind really picked up this afternoon. It's still howling out there. This report just in from Environment Canada:

Awesome. We put the kids in rubber boots today, but it may be back to winter boots tomorrow!

Liam's Birthday Party

Liam's birthday party was with 3 other kids. We had a 1-2-3-4 party (one kid for each age!) with a balloon pit, face painting, lots of food, lots of presents, and lots of cake! A good time was had by all!

Liam decided he wanted a monkey cake. An orange monkey cake, of course! And here it is...

Post with no Pics

Sorry it's been so long! No new pictures at the moment, as I haven't managed to get the cameras and the computer together long enough to transfer any across. I don't have much to report... We are planning our trip out in June. Nothing too strenuous there, yet. Craig has been busy at work, and it seems like we have group suppers at our house quite often, which is nice. We get to visit without getting a sitter!

The kids have been going to gymnastics, after a short break due to a lack of qualified coaches/supervisors. They still enjoy it, and surprisingly (not really!), their favourite part is the trampoline. Liam walked the whole length of the high balance beam by himself, and was suitably proud! Logan can now jump from the trampoline up onto the vault by himself, although he isn't quite brave enough to slide off himself.

Liam has been very interested in reading and writing lately, so we have been helping and encouraging with that. His drawing has also been getting more detailed, and he is drawing his own shapes to cut out.

Logan has been doing puzzles, and it either getting very good or very lucky. Since he is putting the pieces together with such purpose, I think he must be getting the hang of it. He and Liam accidentally worked together on a puzzle today, with Liam working on the top half and Logan on the bottom, then me showing them how they could fit the two together and put in the last couple of pieces. It worked out beautifully: Can you imagine trying to get them to do that on purpose?!

Liam and I went for a walk yesterday. Because Logan stayed behind with Dad (they picked us up in the car later to get the mail and such) Liam and I got to walk with fewer stops and go farther than usual. There were still the necessary stops to swipe at the snow and crunch the ice - just half as many!

Hope that brings you all a little bit up to date - I'll try to get that camera up here soon!
